Towson University supports the Cherry Hill Urban Garden in an effort to bring fresh produce to the community. Towson student volunteers spent last Saturday morning assisting Juanita Ewell, the garden manager, in preparing the ground for the new fall crops. Below are pictures from the morning.
Students helped to prepare the “community park” section of the garden for fall crops that will be planted there shortly. This section of the garden will include paths that surround the crops as well as the butterfly garden that we posted about in October.
Ms. Juanita told the students, “When you find something you love doing it doesn’t feel like work. I wake up every day excited to go to the garden and I dread leaving at night.” Ms. Juanita is one of the two garden managers of the Cherry Hill Urban Garden.
